EARTH FAIR BAZAAR – November 8, 2008
Dick Benson of the Madison Foundation with Young Audiences Executive Director Eileen Carpinella and Members of Surcari at the Fair Earth Bazaar
Young Audiences artists performances and workshops at the Fair Earth Bazaar on November 8, 2008 at Mercy Center in Madison were a great success. Surcari got the crowd moving and tapping to the wonderful sounds of music from a variety of countries in South America. Guitar, pan pipes and amazing Latin rhythms earned this group a standing ovation.
Many children and adults painted oil drums with an environmental theme under the direction of artist Susan Rosano. The drums will be used by the Center for recyling.
An enthusiastic group played African percussive instruments with artist Che Cartafalsa and learned about the cultures in several African countries.
We thank the Madison Foundation, the CT Commission on Culture and Tourism and the Madison Rotary for their support of this project.
