Thank you for considering  applying to the Arts For Learning Connecticut artists roster.  Please carefully review the application and include all necessary support materials, as incomplete applications may not be accepted.  Please note that since Arts For Learning Connecticut is an affiliate of Young Audiences, all artists who are accepted to the roster must complete training in the Young Audiences Signature Core Services and other professional development opportunities presented by Arts For Learning Connecticut.

Artists are selected based on artistic and educational quality and on the unique contribution an artist will make to our roster.  To be successful within this organization, an artist or ensemble must commit to include the Young Audiences Signature Core Service Standards by which participants in residencies or workshops, or audiences in performances, experience the art form, understand the art form, have an opportunity to create in the art form, and are able to connect the art form to some aspect of their life.

Artists who are applying to teach within our VSA roster would be required to receive additional training in use of Universal Design for Learning provided by Arts For Learning.

In addition, we expect our artists to possess and exhibit true artistry, professionalism,  strong educational content through a direct connection to National Core Curriculum Standards and/or CT State Department of Education Curriculum Frameworks, as well as 21st Century Learning Skills, communication skills and enthusiasm for their work.
